How to print and frame your star map
Every CelestiArt file is made at 300 DPI and at the exact physical size you chose, so it prints sharp at a photo lab, a copy shop or at home.
Choose the size before you download
Files are generated at the size selected in the editor, and each save counts toward your four downloads, so decide on the size first.

All sizes come in portrait or landscape. They match off-the-shelf frames, so there is no custom framing to wait for. With a mat, go one frame size up (for example an 8×10 print in an 11×14 frame).
Where to print
- Photo counter or print shop: fastest and best value; many print 8×10 in or A4 while you wait. Bring the PNG or PDF on your phone or a USB stick.
- Online print service: upload the PNG and have it printed, and sometimes framed, and delivered. Useful for sending a gift far away.
- At home: fine for A4 or Letter-size on good paper. Print the PDF at 100% / Actual size, not “Fit to page”. Dark designs use a lot of ink; light themes like ivory print best at home.
Paper
- Matte or fine-art paper is the classic choice: no glare, rich darks, soft whites.
- Satin or lustre photo paper makes stars pop, with less glare than gloss.
- Heavier stock (200 gsm and up) stays flat in the frame.
Gift-wrapping ideas
- Frame it and wrap it, with a card explaining the date and place.
- Short on time? Print the design on a card, or email the PDF with a note that the framed print is coming.
